Dr. Darlene Townsend BIO

Dr. Darlene Townsend is a native New Yorker who truly reverences the awesomeness of the Almighty God.  She was employed full-time as the director of state and federally funded programs at the Greater Allen A.M.E. Cathedral of New York where the Emeritus Rev. Dr. Floyd H. Flake was her pastor.

For many years, Dr. Townsend served faithfully in various capacities including choirs, youth ministry, mentor, praise and worship for special events, auxiliaries, and leadership. 

She received her secular education from Howard University and Miami University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees, respectively.  Her theological studies resulted in a Bachelor’s degree from Vision International University, a Master's and Doctor of Ministry in Theology from Life Christian University. 

Throughout her years of advanced learning, Dr. Townsend walked in the Word and “studied to show herself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Tim. 2:15). As such, she was the recipient of numerous honors and awards for her outstanding achievement in biblical studies.

Dr. Townsend is also a former Professor of Christian Education and English Composition who is dedicated to writing with excellence!  Her writings are the true inspiration of the Holy Spirit – for, without His leading, these pages would be blank.

She has published several books which are available on Amazon entitled: Spiritual Turbulence in the Church – Who Left the Door Open?; Voices of Victory – Discernment Over Disillusionment, and Prophetic Dance Movements Availeth Much! Additionally, she has facilitated teaching sessions on each of her books which have enlightened many.

The LORD has also equipped and anointed her to move prophetically in dance and flags. Over the years, she has ministered in plays, special events, weddings, facilitated conferences, and conducted extended workshop training to dance ministries locally and out of state.
